Why business games?
“Employees who understand and support entrepreneurial decisions and ultimately act in an entrepreneurial manner”,
this is exactly the training goal pursued with the method of business games. Learning about business management concepts is one thing, but being able to apply these principles to “one’s own company” and in this way experience the consequences of decisions – only business games can do that!
What is the procedure?
The participants take the roles of the management team and have to lead “their” company successfully through several business years. In the process, they also have to make all the management decisions themselves – from pricing to financing. After each round of the game, there is extensive reflection to ensure learning outcomes.
What are the benefits for your teams?
In one word, understanding!
The teams experience the consequences of decisions and thus understand business contexts. In addition, numerous technical terms become tangible and, as a consequence, understandable.
Over the years, we have developed countless business games – many of them tailor-made for our customers. To give you a better idea, here are two examples of business games:
“Impact” simulation game
As top managers, participants are responsible for the areas of sales, procurement and inventory management, production and delivery, and controlling.
The simulation covers 3 business years. During these years, orders must be acquired, raw materials procured, products manufactured and delivered on time and invoiced. At the end of each fiscal year, annual financial statements consisting of P&L and balance sheet and a cash flow statement are prepared.
With the help of key performance indicators (KPIs), the results of the fiscal year are analyzed, presented to the other teams and then discussed.
